Yogeswari was born in Switzerland and is one of the most experienced and recognized teachers of Jivamukti Yoga. Since 2000 she has been teaching mainly at the Jivamukti Yoga School in New York. According to 'Sonima' she is one of the 100 most influential yoga teachers in the USA. She is Advanced Certified (advanced certificate) and head of the Jivamukti Teacher Training and has accompanied countless students in their 800-hour training. Yogeswari has been teaching workshops, immersions and retreats in five languages around the world since 2004. She is known for her powerful, flowing Vinyasa sequences, peppered with yoga-philosophical inspirations.
With her 20 years of experience in dance and choreography, Yogeswari brings liveliness and verve into all of her activities. She holds an MA in Choreography and Dance from the University of New York and a BFA McL in Dance from Temple University in Philadelphia. Furthermore, she is the founder of the AZAHAR Foundation, an international NPO that promotes intercultural cooperation and non-violent conflict resolution through yoga and the performing arts, with a special focus on disenfranchised communities and women and children in conflict-ridden environments.
